In 1830, Arthur Barolet had founded a small family business in the Burgundy wine capital of Beaune. But it was only known by a limited circle of connoisseurs for the quality of its wines. His grandson, also named Arthur Barolet, gave up medicine in the 1920’s and left Paris in order to take over the firm of his family. When he died in 1969, Doctor Barolet left a unique collection of 160.000 bottles from Millesime 1911 to 1960.
The majority of the wine known under this name was dispersed in auctions all over the world. Since then, the company went through different hands but never changed its name and its philosophy.
Maison Arthur Barolet et Fils owns several nice vineyards, like the famous Clos des Guettes in appellation Savigny 1er Cru. For the other appellations, the best wines from the winegrowers are selected and vinified in order to enhance the genuine character of each appellation and terroir.
The ageing is processed in 228 liters French oak barrels in the underground historical Cellars with the right proportion of new barrel every year.
Maison Arthur Barolet et Fils offers a wide range of Burgundy wines from Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits, Côte Chalonnaise.
